Time, Times, and Timely

It’s the times, you know.
The times that make us so crazy.
Running in high gear, never enough time
Can’t keep up with the work of the day.
No time.

Time is the problem,
We don’t have enough.
The twenty-four-hour-day should be longer.
Sleep is an activity that’s much over-rated,
It takes too much of our time.

We try to keep everything timely, on-time
Not see time-a-wasting on timeless endeavors
Like art and talking and visiting friends.
There’s simply and plainly
Not enough time.

It’s the times that we live in.
There is not enough time to sit down
Or listen to an old man telling a story
In the timeless way of the past.
All time, too soon, is passed.

Exactly, Granny Sue.

When I was much younger, a girl friend that lived nearby would stop in at least two or three times a week and we'd get creative and bake a fancy-smancy coffee cake of some sort and drink coffee and just hang out and talk. I miss those days, too.

It really makes me wonder ...

I'm glad I took the time to read your poem :) So many of our lives are rushed to the point that we don't know what we are rushing to.
